The concept is good. A lot of the links work well, when the items are primarily known by their initials, but others are not and really seem like a stretch. Cd for Cadmium? Sure, great. CD for carpe diem? I don't think anyone uses that abbreviation.

Total rubbish.

Not suggesting for a moment that most of these are recognised abbreviations. Certainly not for the people, the rugby team, the saying. It is purely a link. They've usually been quite popular... ah well, tastes change.

Almost impossible until you see the theme, then challenging and fun once you do. I agree Carpe Diem isn't usually abbreviated but if you know you are looking for initials it is clear enough. Good grid.
