too obscure

Aye, European languages spoken by tens of millions of people are desperately obscure. On the other hand, I didn’t like it either. My reason - because it was wholly a translation test, no misdirection, no red herrings; therefore not really an OC wall imo

Meant to add a comment after posting but got whisked away from my desk. This is intended as being more like 4 Only Connect first round questions in a wall, as opposed to an archetypal wall. No biggie if you don't enjoy it, but I hope some do.

I like the thinking

This is a great grid, difficult and fiendishly off beat. A nice change from the usual fare.

Scored a big fat zero. However, I like grids with a twist now and then. I don't think they all have to conform to the OC wall. This was well put together... I just didn't get it, which is no criticism of the grid.
