Brilliant!

PBM
DalmatiAn and UsbOrne are the correct spellings, otherwise a
brilliant grid.

Big Bird
I enjoy the bird references. Very good grid. CAWCAW CAWCAW

I absolutely disagree. If one of the clues is spelt wrong, how are you supposed to know whether it is deliberate or not? It undermines the whole concept.

elvis
Usually 1 spelling mistake will/could wreck the grid.
(9 years, 11 months ago)

Jayem
This was such a nice easy, well-made grid that I didn't have time to notice the spelling mistakes.

Nice :)

It's Pelicon crossing not pelican. And I have not heard of toucan crossing
(9 years, 1 month ago)

Oddball
Think it's pelican crossing actually.
(9 years, 1 month ago)

Oddball
Apologies,it's both!
(9 years, 1 month ago)

Figs
Lots of publishing red herrings but you need to be English to get the crossings
(9 years ago)

leedsfan
my sort of grid!!

Goldfish
Liked the mix and not too difficult. Though it would be good to correct Dalmatian and Usborne, Spellings don't matter too much here as the clues could not be anything else

Good Grid- fairly easy

Found it a bit difficult with road crossings as I have never heard about any other then Zebra
(8 years, 5 months ago)

Winston Smith
I got all ten points, but I do admit to having guessed quite a bit. There are so many answers that fit into different categories. The spotted ones are the ones that got me the most. It requires you to think, but isn’t too hard and doesn’t require specialist knowledge.

Aj
Got confused with toucan crossing. Never heard of it. Very satisfying grid

I loved this one. Initially so confusing and then the clouds part.

Admittedly put print for leapord, Vista, Android and Linux because of leapord and Vista. Thanks for giving me a seven, cauldron.
(6 years, 7 months ago)

Penguin isn’t actually a children’s book publisher - they publish for all ages. Puffin is Penguin’s exclusively children's brand I believe
(6 years, 2 months ago)

playful
Country specific jargon (in this case road crossings) make it more difficult for people not from that country.
I just entered "publishers" which was accepted.
Android and Linux are operating systems that have several versions. Leopard and Vista are individual versions of Mac OS X and Windows respectively.

Linux is not an operating system, it's a kernel. Android uses Linux.

Calum.
A Toucan crossing? Don't think so. Plus Dalmation blunder.
(5 years, 2 months ago)

snoopy
Usborne are a publisher, not Usbourne

peddars
Enjoyed this one, but leaning more towards medium I think. A Toucan crossing is one that allows bicycles to cross as well. There is one outside our local Asda ...

yamhay
Lots of good crossovers, confusing but clever
(4 years, 11 months ago)

Keith Pratt
I bet the seppos loved this one
(4 years, 11 months ago)

argh
the crossing types mean zero to us americans
(4 years, 10 months ago)

Jo
Clever!
(4 years, 10 months ago)

Nicko
the crossing types mean little to some Brits too
(4 years, 10 months ago)

Andrew Pepper
The operating systems connection isn't quite valid; Android and Linux are operating systems, Vista and Leopard are versions of operating systems.
(4 years, 10 months ago)

Jo
Agree with Andrew's comment.
(4 years, 10 months ago)

Gerry
It's Dalmatian, not Dalmation... that had me scratching my head for a while! :-)
(4 years, 10 months ago)

Georgie A
Ignore the negatives - this is a good one 👍
(4 years, 9 months ago)

Bowiewhist
25 secs left, 100% and feel really satisfied. It was a good puzzle but can not be deemed hard. Enjoyed it and thanks for setting it.

@gerry me too! but i'm forain what's ur excuse

It should be "dalmatian", not dalmetian. I

Fairly easy once you sorted out the categories

Neil
good, book publishers got me
(4 years, 5 months ago)

Malcolm
I'd never heard of Toucan or Puffin crossings either, but fortunately I solved it without that group and since I knew two of them were crossings, it was a logical guess.
Playful: that is why the option to select by where the grid is from exists. I only do UK ones because American Sports, TV and brands are near impossible for me.
(4 years, 5 months ago)

Bob
Henry: I hope you're not a driver then because you obviously haven't read the highway code where all the different crossings are set out.
(4 years, 4 months ago)

Bob Garton
good puzzle
(3 years, 9 months ago)

Theo
Spelling issues aside I learned a lot of new things!
(3 years, 3 months ago)

dude your spellings tho

Good grid - just the right number of red herrings to make you think.

Typo on "Dalmatian"
