Nice attempt, but stifling the fun a bit by trying too hard.
As an example, the Bacchus/Ninja Turtle group does not need the first part at all to work (also the Don McLean Hit does not fit the pattern) -- just Ninja Turtle, Citroën model, P. Bridge and anything named after a last name would be a fantastic group.

Same problem with the other groups. All this doubling up achieves is to make it harder to get your answer just right so it's accepted, which (despite all automated protestations) is part of a satisfying grid.

That is too confusing

I really like the thinking behind this, it's really original, right up my street. Could probably do with some expanded explanations, but it's a really good format
