What's an E number? Not heard of that!

Lizzy-read some food labels, E numbers are stuff they put in food to do jobs like preserving& colouring that are NOT natural.They give them E numbers because some have l-o-n-g names and they`d never get it all on the packet! :-D

thanks Krista. the E denotes that it's in accordance with EU food standards. The number I think is how many ways it will screw you up?

Lest you go on an E number hunt and eliminate them from your diet, bear in mind E300 is ascorbic acid, aka Vitamin C.
Not all E numbers are bad boys; not all would have a 3yr old climbing walls. :-)

Fair point, as usual, BinDipper! Just discovered that E560, E461, E462, E464, E466, E467, E101, E300, E306, E160a & E1510 are all present in a raw, unprocessed, organic banana! :)
