I think these are getting a bit distant from the original style.

Yep- my prerogative, Hamster, as I go to the trouble of making them. And I'm MORE than happy to see others use the formats I've come up with. (I do occasionally do original style ones). If you want to see more grids that are exactly one format, not deviating from the norm- write some! This is as much a fun mental exercise for us setters as it is a free service we're providing to you. Try to enjoy, it's only fun- if you can't, skip it.

Lorna, I generally do skip most of your puzzles, but it seems lately well over half of the puzzles published come from you. Skipping is fine, but skipping 50% gets a bit tedious.

Please do skip me and don't comment any more. Plenty of people like mine. I'm not for everybody. Should I stop making grids just because you don't like them? Is that seriously what you're saying? Who's being self indulgent? My reply to ALL critics on this website is- set your own. Have a go yourself. If there's something you want to see, make it happen. Don't have a go at those who try.

Sometimes Lorna's puzzles frustrate me because of how little british pop culture I know, but otherwise they're great - the most consistently good ones I find in the new feed! I'm very grateful for the rate of output. This one was particularly fun.

Thanks, Laura! I'm sorry that I'm a bit too British sometimes, I try to keep subjects universal; now and then I'll add a grid on something closer to home- but hopefully there are plenty to choose from! ;)
