There have been 2 "J"s for a few weeks. This grid good, wonder what ones choice of letter signifies? lol. Did not get perm or dock, still don't. thank you

@ J & J first J post I see was with Aussie flag #32206, there was a later J post # 32228 where you or J said they were just starting. Check out the comments on these. StJohn

Yes I began my first 2 under the Australian flag (in Melbourne) but the format defaults to UK - and I am London born anyway, so left it as UK.
This second J posted 2 just in the last couple of days - but that is all I have noticed. I left them msgs on the grids. I have been doing grids off and on for years but only submitting in the past couple of months (bored in lockdown). If someone else predates me prior to my Aust posts, then I will just have to change my name? thanks for your help

Stjohn, the 2 others that are not me are 13132 and 13134. Looking at the comments, I wonder if it is 'trolling'

@J if #32206 was your first, then the other J precedes you.

got it wrong they began with 33, very recent. if there was a J before say 2 months ago, that would be different. Will wait and see. cheers

A week ago I made a deliberately bad grid and called myself ‘Pat’. Is this wrong? Was a bit annoyed that the real Pat kept leaving critical comments, but never made a grid of their own!

hm not a great idea. Better to just say what is on your mind- like stjohn did recently about critical types. I dont think this other J person is genuine.

@ Colmac - was this the souvignon? If so you are forgiven. Most on here like to play the game, whether solving,posting or both. Some, no names no pack drill seem to believe it is their right to pick holes and score one-up-manship. The downside of this, in my opinion is that regular players tend to play grids by those names they recognise and I am guilty of this, and pass new posters who get overlooked. To conclude, yes it was wrong[ish] but I will not cast the first stone. Keep posting and playing and grow another skin [easier said than done] I have been targeted by Trolls etc in the past, but PuzzGrid friends persuaded me not to leave.

A 5* grid very clever and enjoyable. I've been on the receiving end of troll grids made in my name and also of pedantry and criticism- so I see both sides here- it is hard to ignore it but I have found that the easiest thing is to just let it go- people with their own issues often use t'internet to vent; the anonymity can make them forget that they are in contact with other, real human beings- with that in mind it's easier to not take it too personally because that's exactly what it is- impersonal. It is unfortunately the down- side of something that is, particularly in the current situation, a blessing and a wonderful tool for connecting with people. It's human nature I'm afraid, as is getting frustrated by it. I'm loving your grids, they're a lot of fun and that is what it's all about; it's a game! I for one enjoy it all the more having you, stjohn etc here and am grateful for the work put in. Always quality, always positive comments and a friendly approach- the upside to this website. Thanks Lorna! Well said all. ( I am just a harmless mum not looking for trouble!). Times are so difficult at the moment, even more so here in Melbourne where we are back in lockdown. So as my mother would say "can't we all just get along" haha. I will stick with my J for now. Don't worry Colmac ,all is forgiven : )

I'm sorry it's hard there- you could do without the hassle, I'm sure! If it's any consolation, your grids are distinctively you- it's quite easy to tell if its not the real Mccoy. :D x

PS - by the way Colmac, I made a deliberately bad one also. I put in a line of spelling mistakes (as one of my themes) - BUT NO-ONE NOTICED THEM!!!!
