Some of the solutions and links seem far too tenuous. The novels and films contain only a word from a whole title, and not even the last word, making the difficulty appear to be more about how this puzzle is set up and not finding the links.
I'd argue that a grid is not a puzzle, but something within which a puzzle can be contained also.

Hi Eddy, Thanks for such a polite explanation (seriously). The grid contains various features such as clues (e.g. IPCRESS), pseudo members of categories (e.g. Lanky Larry), hidden words and parts of things ; not unusual for grids, especially more difficult ones. It requires careful thought and strategy to make sense of all the available information. Although there is all sorts in there, at the end they will only fit 4 into each of the 4 categories. I think it's reasonable for me to think you would consider 'grid' as a type of puzzle, since you were playing a grid on a site called puzzgrid! I just open up grids and play whatever I find. It's fun and the flexibility is good for me:D
