Sorry Go more than once, becomes confusing

I know, Jimbo. Trouble is, some people like new twists; I don't think it's unfair to do a very occasional one for them. Originally it had 4 lines like that. I'd have been a dead duck if I'd put that up :D

Ok, this is running on 2.5 stars. Would someone have the courtesy to explain exactly why this is of lower quality than my other grids of the same type? (Remembering that there is no rating for Like/Dislike, so obviously you didn't think 'ooh I didn't like that so much, I'll rate it low on quality').

Same with me Ducky : (

I know, J. Got a little campaign running this morning to ask people to rate on quality. I knew some people wouldn't like it - but it's still a perfectly fair grid and just as entertaining as my others. I'm a big girl: I can take it. (Are we TP's Monstrous Regiment, do you think? :DDD Rick??)

Time for a holiday, Ducky.

Already planned Regular Quizzer. Just thought I'd make the point before I go. Incidentally - still not got an explanation!

I scored it low because the grid was spoiled by having two rows of Go - it just didn't make sense. Curiously I think if you had done 4 rows of Go I would have liked it better. As it was, just felt pretty 'Meh' once I finished.

Bloo
Agree with jimbo. Having two “go” answers makes it a bit of a roulette

@Ducky - Sorry to disappoint, I have a Y chromosome.

I haven't played your grid because I'm trying to break the addiction before it gets too advanced, but couldn't resist reading comments. In my experience, the standard of your grids has been 5* with just an occasional 4*. My experience of low scores is that they are very rarely accompanied by explanation and despite this comments thread only 2 people have even tried to explain. Bloo's view that its "routine" shouldn't lead to a low score only a 3*.

I think there are those who mark on like/dislike of a grid and those who mark on like/dislike of a setter, nothing to do with quality at all. I hope you haven't attracted any of the latter.

Have a good holiday. We'll see if I'm back before you!

Well good morning from here! I have missed a bit. I actually sometimes post under another name just to check if some actually have just made up their minds that they don't like my grids in advance. I think others just get annoyed if they find them too hard - or not to their interest - and mark quality down. I tend do do a wide variety of styles (some obscure) but hope that people will just ignore if they do not like. I try never to leave a negative comment because variety is the spice of life and I think everyone is entitled to have a go. I do believe now that there are a very few who will always mark you down (even if they would rate the same grid higher, if posted by someone else).
ps... and don't forget not long ago we had a troll who was definitely targeting a few of us.
Oh well, I have tested my theories but will push on regardless! If I didn't have these to occupy my time during our stage 4 lockdown, I would be very bored indeed. : )

Thank-you for your feedback and comments; I appreciate it. When you give 2* or 1* for quality you are saying that the grid has major issues with construction and saying you think it would be better if no one else had to play it (it will drop off the main page at around 2.5*). 1* is ‘whacked up when drunk’ sort of level. There isn’t a like/ dislike range on the page, maybe because we vary in what we enjoy: one persons confusion may be anothers enjoyment of the challenge.

The distinction is about issues that are down to the grid (quality), and experiences that are down to the player. Did you really think that having to spot there were two go lines, and thinking outside the box for one of the answers, is such poor grid quality? Or did you just not get on with it? I’ll leave that with you.
