I feel that the spirit of the game is injured by your length clues. Also, to have weight is not the same as having mass.

Uniquely fun. 2-3 words per group are all you really need to guess the common clue, so there's always a bit of fun in finding the last word that fits. :)

'the act of retrieving coal' is not really mining is it? retrieving suggests something you've already procured i.e. retrieving from the coal shed.

Mass and weight are two different things yes, but to suggest they are two different 'concepts' is bizarre. In our atmosphere, because of gravity, any mass will have a weight as weight is a product of mass and gravitational force.

"Mass" is not "to have weight". I see what you're going for, but the wrong part of speech plus the technical inaccuracy is a little too far.
