Hi film buff ( and movie buff ) I never really give your grids a go as my knowledge isn’t great enough. But if after your grids have been up a day or two and spoilers aren’t going to ruin the fun for serious movie fans, any chance of some hints? Would be fun to try. ( I figure that anyone who deliberately reads the comments before attempting a grid after a few days is looking for hints anyway ).

Hi Fam [MovieBuff here] I will try to come up with one or two that are in your range. Filmbuff and I have a common interest [sometimes] in the pre war black and white stuff.

Nice easy quick cuppa type. Was NOT going to fall for the Susan George type again and took me just a little while longer for the Hopkins [which was his?] rhetorical, I will research. TY filmbuff regular quota of stars applied.

Thanks Moviebuff ( I actually knew this one was you for a change ). Yes, it’s more ones ( potentially ) like this one where I recognise a lot of the players but don’t know where to start. I could let it play out and then see if I could see a connection but I think it’d still be hard.
The more I think about it, maybe you’d have to oversimplify it too much to make it worthwhile 😄

Gave this one a go film buff and you’ve actually made it quite accessible but I think maybe my film knowledge is never going to be great enough no matter how easy. For example, I knew about Mirren, Blanchett, Hayek and Dench in those roles ( maybe even Hopkins ) but still wouldn’t have known enough to guess or form those groups.
Ty anyway, you still learn something and might watch a film because of it!

Hi Fam, it may get confusing but Movie Buff and I are not the same. I am film buff and St john is the other. We both know a lot of old movies and tend to include those. I will post an old movie purist one soon and you can give it a go!
Hints-wise, I can say I have never bonded with these movies but know many have. And another group will appeal to art lovers. : D : D

Haha Jmelb, all these multiple names get confusing! I knew Moviebuff was St John from a prior deduction but I didn’t know this was you! 😄 I’ve jested to St John before that there are probably only about 10 people on this site all with multiple names. I am only Fam though 😀
Look forward to that grid. St John set a ‘very easy’ one for me but I still failed 😂
