Nice and simple, the palindromes are all very well-used by now.

Thanks all. What do you mean that aunt didn't work for you? Happy to edit if necessary.

Not bad - but agree that homophone group is very iffy

In much of the English-speaking world Aunt is pronounced more like Aren't that Ant. I think that's what's being alluded to, but honestly I don't see it as a problem.

Can't see why anyone is having problems with the homophones, aunt and ant are pronounced the same in most parts of the English speaking world. Surely even if you speak with a southern English affectation you recognise most people say ant for aunt? Decent enough grid.

"aunt and ant are pronounced the same in most parts of the English speaking world"
Not really. When using terms like "most" you need to remember to include countries like India, with approx 125million English speakers, as well as those with English as an official or majority language, most of which (the countries) would favour the normal British English pronunciation.

I have literally never heard Aunt pronounced as arent, never mind it being the dominant pronunciation. Aunt and Ant are pronounced the same and it has be said that if you are pronouncing it otherwise then that is a localised accent rather than pronouncitation. Feel free to check the dictionary and its phonetic spelling. Appreciate the feedback but definitely don't agree with this particular bit!

Google "aunt pronunciation" to learn more. Like I said I don't think it's a problem in the grid, and would expect most people to at least be aware that there are two distinct versions of how it's pronounced.
