Whilst people certainly do shoot pigeons - both clay and real - I don’t understand your Dick Dastardly reference

The programme was called Stop The Pigeon and there’s no reference to shooting him in the lyrics

- Nab him
Jab him
Tab him
Grab him
Stop that pigeon now.

But never shoot him!

@ Neil, quite right! I was thinking of Dastardly & Muttley (spin off characters from the Wacky Races cartoon. The song was "Catch (not shoot) the pigeon. I guess one has to be as old as me to remember this one. (PS, I am 37 years old and a compulsive liar) thanks for your comments.

Tilly - I remember the show from when it was first broadcast in 1969…. You need to be older than 37 to remember it from then ! But it has been repeated many times!
