Quite good. Nice ideas and a pleasingly quick solve. I feel book and rift are a bit archaic - I've literally never heard of them as synonyms for the link, and it's a pity the that doe/row is wrong for the group,as roe is fish eggs, not a species or common name of a fish. Other than those quibbles, it was fun.

I enjoyed the grid anyway, but bolk (rhymes with yolk) actually means to retch or vomit and you will still hear it in parts of the North and Scotland.
It's good to have obscure clues in there. I like learning one thing because I have heard of the other three. It's no bad thing if guesswork has to come into play towards the end of a grid.

Sadly a wrong or at best extremely tenuous component in a group always makes a grid frustrating - this grid had two with bolk being t’other - shame as it was good otherwise
